Last-Minute Defections: PDP Candidate, LP Chair Join APC Ahead of Kaduna LG Polls

Big moves are happening in Kaduna State’s political landscape! Abdullahi Imrah, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) councillorship candidate, and Isah Chiroma, the Labour Party (LP) chairman, have just defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ¹ ² ³ ⁴. This dramatic switch comes just a day before the local government elections, scheduled for October 19, 2024.

According to Naija News, Chiroma was drawn to the APC’s inclusive governance approach, championed by Senator Uba Sani, and the impressive infrastructural developments in Southern Kaduna. Imrah, on the other hand, saw an opportunity to contribute to the nation’s progress by joining forces with Peter Tanko in the APC.

The deputy governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, warmly welcomed the new members, praising their decision to join the “winning team.” She assured them of inclusion in future endeavors and noted that the APC’s strong supporter turnout indicates a likely victory.

Peter Tanko Dogara, the APC chairmanship candidate for Jemaa Local Government Council, promised the community effective governance, transparency, and focus on key issues like security, health, investment, and empowerment.
